I didn't know what to expect from Great Little War when I first started playing but it turned out to be a very addictive little game. It's so much fun to play that you just want to give it one more try until you find yourself spending a lot more time playing than what you originally planned.
Great Little War is a turn-based RTS. You'll need to accomplish different objectives, depending on what your mission is, to complete the game so it doesn't get boring or repetitious. You'll gain experience points as you level up by completing each mission.
There are a number of different ways to defeat the enemy but you need to plan out your attacks strategically before heading into battle. Therefore, you have to think about what you're doing. In my opinion, this is the best way to battle. When you have to plan your moves in advance, it makes it more interesting and fun than just pushing buttons.
You can view this game from two perspectives. When you're battling, you'll have a third person perspective and other times you'll have an overhead view where you're looking down as if you're flying over the game. It's really neat!
Sometimes, it can be a little hard to control the camera and you don't have any control over the zoom feature but it doesn't really affect the gameplay. It would just be nice to have more control. I also wish the game had multiplayer capabilities but unfortunately, it doesn't and that would be my main complaint simply because I would love to go up against my friends on this one.
I believe the amusing art style, great 3D graphics and well-designed gameplay is what makes this game so interesting and fun to play. I would recommend Great Little War to friends as a great little game that can give you hours of fun and entertainment.
